What makes me different from other therapists?

  • I’m an Art Therapist!

    • Art therapy combines the creative process and psychotherapy, facilitating self-exploration and understanding. Using imagery, colour and shape as part of this creative therapeutic process, thoughts and feelings can be expressed that would otherwise be difficult to articulate.

    • Art Therapists are Masters-level trained clinicians with expertise in the dynamics of psychotherapy and visual arts. Art Therapy focuses most on the process of art making, not the product itself.

  • I am here to walk alongside you on your journey while providing insight and support. I am not to be mistaken for an expert in your life, though; only you will ever hold that inner knowledge.

  • I approach my work eclectically, drawing from experiential, humanistic, somatic and cognitive modalities. I strive to create a safe container for our work where you feel comfortable engaging in uncensored self-exploration and have autonomy and choice in how we share space.

  • I welcome incorporating ceremonial, ancestral and traditional healing practices in our sessions. This can include smudging, offerings to your healed ancestors for support, and so much more.

  • I value authenticity, liberation, community, equity, anti-racism, decolonization, trauma-informed care, politicized therapy, holistic diversity, inclusivity, cultural safety, anti-oppressive practice, ongoing reflection, representation, and empowerment.

  • I am not a robot, I am a heart-centred, imperfect human walking this earth just like you. I will do my best to bring my full self to our sessions, which will show up as laughing, silliness, getting things wrong sometimes, embracing messiness and potentially shedding a few tears together.

How Aisha Works

Individual Therapy Session Cost: $160/session

  • I offer a sliding scale but don’t update this often enough to reflect the availability of reduced-rate sessions. Please let me know what rate would work for you and I will see what’s possible.

  • No art experience necessary. I am not an art teacher and this is not an art class, I will not be judging your art or artistic ability. Art therapy may still be for you even if you do not consider yourself an artist or have not touched art supplies since you were a child.

  • I am open to working with children and youth 8+, young adults, and adults

  • My services are currently fully virtual. However, I am hopeful to have an office space located in London, ON for in-person sessions in the foreseeable future!

“Rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation. Healing is an act of communion.”

— Bell Hooks

“At its best, activism is a form of healing. It is about what we do and how we show up in the world. It is about learning and expressing regard, compassion and love.

— Resmaa Menakem
